Synopsis

Charlie - playing the well-dressed gent - is thwarted in love because of a mix up with a maid, and tries to end it all with poison. Fun is had at Charlie's expense by the butler who knows the 'poison' is only water. The medics are summoned, resulting in more mayhem. The lover, discovering the truth, rushes to Charlie's side and they are reunited.
